Ocean carriers shake up Asia-ISC trade

Evergreen Line and “K” Line will be joining the Asia-ISC dedicated PMX loop, which will soon be changing its ports of call, while the two carriers will also launch the PIX/PM2 loop, in conjunction with COSCO, PIL and Wan Hai.    Ocean carriers Evergreen Line and “K” Line will be joining the Asia-Indian Subcontinent dedicated PMX loop, which will soon be changing its ports of call, while the two carriers will also launch the Asia-Indian Subcontinent dedicated PIX/PM2 loop, in conjunction with COSCO, PIL and Wan Hai.
   The PMX, jointly operated by Wan Hai, COSCO, PIL and CSCL, will add “K” Line with the Aug. 29 departure of the CSCL Sydney from Qingdao, according to “K” Line’s most recent online service schedules.
   The service will also add Evergreen with the Sept. 5 departure of the Alexandria Bridge from Qingdao, according to Evergreen’s most recent online service schedules.
   Currently, the PMX operates with a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Karachi, Mundra, Port Kelang, Singapore and Shanghai, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
   Six vessels with an average capacity of 4,355 TEUs operate on the loop. COSCO and Wan Hai each provide two vessels, while CSCL and PIL each provide one vessel, according to BlueWater Reporting.
   Effective with the Aug. 29 sailing, the rotation will change to Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Singapore, Port Kelang, Karachi, Mundra, Colombo, Singapore and Qingdao. The loop will still operate with six vessels.
   The carriers’ most recent online service schedules show COSCO, Wan Hai, PIL, CSCL and “K” Line will each provide one vessel, while the vessel operator of the sixth vessel is currently not clear.
   Meanwhile, another Asia-Indian Subcontinent loop will launch with the Sept. 8 departure of the COSCO Sao Paulo from Fuzhou, which Evergreen, COSCO and “K” Line will refer to as the PIX and PIL and Wan Hai will call the PM2.
   The loop will operate with a rotation of Fuzhou, HK, Nansha, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Karachi, Mundra, Port Kelang and Fuzhou.
   Five vessels will be deployed on the PIX/PM2, with COSCO providing two vessels; Evergreen, PIL and Wan Hai providing one vessel each; and “K” Line purchasing slots on the loop, according to the carriers’ most recent online service schedules. “K” Line said the five vessels will have an average capacity of 4,200 TEUs.
