From March 26, Hapag-Lloyd will be serving the Hanover-Stuttgart and Stuttgart-Hanover routes with two Boeing 737-800s.
Every night, Deutsche Post uses 20 planes on 35 routes to transport its letters within Germany.
The company will continue to use Lufthansa Cargo and Deutsche BA as carriers in the overnight air network.
Deutsche Post said that a total of approximately 12 million letters, weighing about 300 tons, are flown daily.
