Transport sector digs out from snowstorm    A massive winter snowstorm that dumped up to 40 inches of snow over the eastern United States during the weekend has crippled transportation networks and caused delays in freight shipments across major portions of the region.
   Several airports were shut down Sunday because their runways had not been cleared and freight railroads worked to clear tracks. Norfolk Southern said its operations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, New York, New Jersey and the Carolinas have been impacted the most. It warned customers to expect delays of at least 48 hours and invoked force majeure, absolving it from liability for late delivery.
   Many highways are passable but still snow covered.
   Weather forecasters are calling for another 5 to 10 inches of snow for the mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday evening.
