The 1,000 acre site is adjacent to Interstate 35 and BNSF’s transcontinental mainline.
About 350 acres will be designated for a new BNSF intermodal facility with the remaining acreage dedicated for warehouse and distribution facilities by Allen.
The site will serve as a hub for loading and unloading shipping containers between truck and rail modes of transportation. The intermodal facility is expected to be operational by late 2008.
Allen’s other developments include the International Trade and Transportation Center and MidState 99 Distribution Center in Central California; and the Dallas Logistics Hub.
