The throughput was split fairly equally by the port’s two terminals, with the state-run JN Port container terminal handling 1.27 million TEUs and the P&O Ports-operated NSICT terminal moving 1.31 million TEUs.
The port said it handled 36.2 million tons of containerized, liquid bulk, breakbulk and vehicle cargos in 2005, up 11.7 percent from 32.4 million tons handled in the previous year.
