MOL Q4 North American intermodal performance at 56%

   MOL (America) Inc. said this week that its North American intermodal transit on-time performance results for October-December 2013 was 56 percent for the three origin ports in Asia to the six inland destinations in the United States it measures.
   The performance was adversely affected by vessel delays on ocean services that connect with its intermodal services, MOL said. One service, the PSX, was on time 47 percent in October, 47 percent in November, and 67 percent in December.
   The on-time performance of another service, the PCX, was 72 percent in October, 57 percent in November, and 45 percent in December.
   Rail performance, measured independently from vessel performance, was 90 percent in these PSX lanes, and 81 percent on the PCX lanes.
   Among the 18 individual origin-destination pairs measured by MOL, the best performing pairs were Cai Mep to Memphis (85 percent), Cai Mep to New York (79 percent), and Yantian to New York (79 percent).
   The worst performing pairs were Cai Mep to Columbus (14 percent), Yantian to Columbus (14 percent), and Shanghai to New York (27 percent).
   MOL’s target for each pair is 90 percent.
