The report said neither Seaboard nor the CBP would comment specifically on what is an ongoing case, but said Seaboard described it as a 'significant' fine. It quoted Seaboard senior vice president Jose Perez Jones as saying, 'We are not admitting any liability. Security is never perfect.'
CBP sent Seaboard the violations notice for the alleged incident at the end of 2005, the report said.
