U.S. AIRFREIGHT BOOM CONTINUED IN NOVEMBER    Robust U.S. airfreight traffic levels continued during November, with international volumes running 20 percent above last year’s levels, according to statistics published by the U.S. Air Transport Association.
   The strong figures follows similar 20-percent growth rates recorded in U.S. international traffic in September and October.
   The U.S. Air Transport Association reported that international freight and express traffic carried by its member airlines was 1.04 billion revenue ton-miles in November, an increase of 19.9 percent over November 2001.
   Domestic freight and express traffic for November was about 940 million revenue ton-miles, up 10.4 percent. Total international and domestic freight and express traffic during the same month amounted to 1.98 billion revenue
ton-miles, representing an increase of 15.2 percent.
   For the first 11 months of 2002, international freight and express traffic carried by the association’s airlines was up 2.1 percent, to 10.23 billion revenue ton-miles. Domestic traffic over the 11-month period increased by 13.5 percent, to 9.92 billion revenue ton-miles. Total international and domestic volumes were up 7.4 percent, to 20.15 billion revenue ton-miles.
   Air Transport Association members include Alaska, Aloha, America West, American, American Trans Air, Continental, Delta, Emery, Federal Express, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Midwest Express, Northwest, Southwest, United, UPS and U.S. Airways.
