OURHOUSE.COM OUTSOURCES E-FULFILLMENT TO GATX ELOGISTICS

OURHOUSE.COM OUTSOURCES E-FULFILLMENT TO GATX ELOGISTICS       OurHouse.com, an online provider of home improvement products, has signed a contract with GATX eLogistics, the e-commerce arm of Jacksonville-based logistics service provider GATX Logistics launched last year.
   Beginning this month, GATX eLogistics will receive products from OurHouse.com at its e-fulfillment facility in Hebron, Ky.
   The logistics service provider will keep more than 3,500 stock-keeping units in inventory for OurHouse.com. The
scope of services to be provided by GATX eLogistics includes inbound freight management, order fulfillment, value-added services such as gift boxes and card insertion, and multi-carrier outbound parcel management. GATX eLogistics will also provide the inbound intermodal transportation for OurHouse.com on its move from its current facility in Nevada to Hebron. In addition to this, GATX eLogistics is also responsible for handling the fulfillment logistics of the recent acquisition by OurHouse.com of Tavolo Inc.
   Allan Tomlinson, vice president of operations for OurHouse.com, said that one of the reasons for selecting GATX eLogistics was its practical experience in logistics and information technology.
      Other customers served by GATX eLogistics include Gear.com, EthnicGrocer.com and Luxlook.com.
   GATX Logistics was recently acquired by APL Logistics, itself owned by Singapore’s Neptune Orient Lines, and will soon change its name to APL Direct Logistics.
