SCCT volume up 34% in 2008 The APM Terminals-run Suez Canal Container Terminal in Egypt on Monday said that had 34 percent growth in throughput in 2008, despite a “contraction” of volume in the second half of the year.

   'We do expect a dip in trade, but we are convinced that, based on the success we have had and the operational efficiencies we deliver, we will be able to fill open capacity with new business,” SCCT commercial manager Martin Pedersen said in a statement. “2009 Volumes are expected to remain stable or exceed 2008 level. SCCT will focus even more on finding tailor made solutions for our customers, to adapt to the changing market.'
