The liner carrier’s subsidiary, Atlantic Vehicle Processors (AVP), has enlarged the facility from 50 acres to about 80 acres. The additional acreage allowed AVP to expand its existing processing plant and body shop.
“The expansion and upgrading of the AVP facility was driven by the growing servicing requirements of our existing and new customers,” said Doug Minnis, president of the AVP operation, in a statement. “We project that AVP will handle about 105,000 units in 2004.”
AVP was set up in 1998 to provide processing services, such as vehicle handling and logistics, railcar loading and unloading, inspection and repair, accessories and marketing enhancements, and upgrades, repairs and retrofits.
AVP’s customers include Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo.
