CARRIERS STREAMLINE ASIA/WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE

CARRIERS STREAMLINE ASIA/WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE    Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, MOL and P&O Nedlloyd are amending their joint Asia/West Coast South America service from two fortnightly strings to become one weekly string. The LACAS/CWL service has also added Chiwan as a direct call.
   The LACAS/CWL service now uses 10 ships averaging 2,425 TEUs with P&O Nedlloyd providing six vessels, “K” Line and MOL offering two each. The revised port rotation is Singapore; Shekou; Hong Kong; Keelung; Busan; Manzanillo, Mexico; Buenaventura; Guayaquil (fortnight); Callao; Antofagasta (fortnight); Iquique; Antofagasta; Valparaiso; Lirquen; Callao; Yokohama and back to Singapore.
   This month, Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica left the LACAS/CWL partnership to take space on the Asia/West Coast South America service of Columbus Line, Lykes Lines, Maruba and TMM Lines.
