UASC ship runs aground off Port Kelang

The 13,500-TEU Umm Salal ran aground Thursday afternoon while en-route to Khor Fakkan, Splash 24/7 reported.    The 13,000-TEU Umm Salal, the largest vessel in United Arab Shipping Company’s (UASC) fleet, ran aground off Port Kelang Thursday, according to maritime news outlet Splash 24/7.
   The ship is receiving aid from local tugs. No details on environmental or vessel damage have been released.
   According to UASC’s online scheduling tool, the Umm Salal is deployed on the AGX1, and was en-route to Khor Fakkan after berthing at Port Kelang. The AGX1 sails on a weekly frequency with seven vessels and a port rotation of Xingang, Dalian, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Port Kelang, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Port Kelang, Nansha and Xingang.
   According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the Umm Salal will next be deployed on THE Alliance’s Far East Asia Europe-FE4 service, which has a port rotation of Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Shekou/Chiwan, Yantian and Busan.
