CCNI applies ISPS surcharge to European/Mediterranean cargo

CCNI applies ISPS surcharge to European/Mediterranean cargo    Chilean line Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica is implementing a security surcharge for shipments bound to or from ports in North Europe, Scandinavia, Baltic Sea and.the Mediterranean.
   The surcharge is being added to cover costs incurred due to the introduction of the International Ship & Port Facility Security Code July 1.
   For shipments to and from North Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea the surcharge per container is 14 euros ($19) for southbound cargo, and 10 euros ($13) per container for northbound cargo.
   Shipments to or from ports in the Mediterranean will be charged an extra 13 euros ($17) per container southbound, and 10 euros ($13) per container for northbound cargo.
