Nestle Chile awards distribution and transportation contract to Ryder

Nestle Chile awards distribution and transportation contract to Ryder    Nestle Chile S.A., a subsidiary of major food and beverage company Nestle, has awarded a distribution and transportation management contract to Miami-based logistics and transportation provider Ryder System.
   Under the terms of the agreement, Ryder will manage Nestle Chile’s two distribution centers in Maipu and Quilicura with a combined 400,000 square feet and 25,000 pallet positions of finished products. The two centers send out about 60 to 80 vehicle loads per day to over 600 Nestle customer locations throughout Chile. Ryder will also be responsible for the management of regional operations facilities in Antofagasta, Concepcion and Temuco.
   “We have been supporting Nestle’s operations in Argentina since 2003. We are proud to have earned their confidence in Argentina which in turn has given us the opportunity to serve them in Chile,” said Ruben Elias, managing director of Ryder Argentina.
