Box volume at major Chinese ports rises 25% in September    Container throughput at the top 10 Chinese ports rose 25 percent in September to 8.33 million TEUs, according to statistics compiled by www.portcontainer.cn.
   For September the leading Chinese container ports were:
   * Shanghai (up 19.7 percent to 2 million TEUs).
   * Shenzhen (up 12.5 percent to 1.74 million TEUs).
   * Qingdao (up 20.8 percent to 693,100 TEUs).
   * Ningbo-Zhoushan (up 36.4 percent to 680,200 TEUs).
   * Guangzhou (up 47.3 percent to 600,400 TEUs).
   * Tianjin (up 22.8 percent to 530,000 TEUs).
   * Xiamen (up 16.6 percent to 351,200 TEUs).
   * Dalian (up 18.8 percent to 295,000 TEUs).
   * Lianyungang (up 34.9 percent to 115,000 TEUs).
   * Zhongshan (up 8 percent to 100,000 TEUs).
   After nine months, the combined throughput of these ports was 66.78 million TEUs, a 22.9 percent increase over the same period 2005.
