Tideworks said it has successfully implemented the TOS at both facilities and that it will more efficiently manage operations there.
GIE Nouméa Port, established in 2006, handles containers and breakbulk in the Port of Nouméa, the main port of French Overseas Territory New Caledonia, in the South Pacific. Vale NC is the owner and operator of the Prony Port, also in New Caledonia, and it handles imports of raw material and supplies for the company’s nearby nickel oxide plant. Vale NC also uses Prony to export nickel hydroxide cake, nickel sinter, and cobalt carbonate.
At the GIE Nouméa Port, Tideworks has deployed three service packages: Mainsail Terminal Management System; Spinnaker Planning Management System; and Traffic Control. The company provided the implementation services, software customization, training, and go-live assistance. Under its agreement, Tideworks will also provide support around remote application administration as well as monitoring and system updates.
Vale NC deployed Tideworks’ Spinnaker service to manage the port’s containerized operations and inventory control. Currently, it is in the process of planning and installing a wireless network to support Tideworks traffic control system that will let Vale NC elecontrically direct container movements to handling equipment.
Tideworks currently operates platforms at nearly 70 facilities across the globe. – Geoff Whiting
