G6 carriers switch Le Havre call

   The G6 Alliance of carriers will switch a call at the Port of Le Havre from one of their Asia-Europe services to another, according to a note Tuesday from G6 member Hapag-Lloyd.
   The lines will switch the call at the French port from their existing Loop 4 service to the Loop 3 service from June 23.
   Loop 4 will now have a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Rotterdam, Jeddah, Singapore, Shekou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. The service is operated with 10 vessels (six from APL, three from Hyundai Merchant Marine, and one from OOCL) with an average capacity of 10,537 TEUs, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
   Loop 3’s rotation will change to Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Singapore, Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Singapore, Yantian, and Ningbo. That service is operated with 11 vessels (six from OOCL, three from MOL, and two from Hapag-Lloyd) with an average capacity of 8,276 TEUs.
   Hapag-Lloyd said transit times involving Le Havre won’t be affected by the change – they are due to remain at 21 days from Singapore, 25 days from South China, and 29 days from Shanghai.
   The G6 Alliance is composed of carriers from two three-operator alliances, the New World and Grand alliances. Members aside from Hapag-Lloyd include, APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine, MOL, NYK Line, and OOCL. – Eric Johnson
