CargoWise ties up distribution deal in Eastern Europe

   CargoWise, a developer of technology systems for logistics service providers, said Thursday it has entered a distribution partnership with enterprise resource planning (ERP) specialists RBC Group to target rapidly expanding markets in Eastern Europe and Russia.
   Formed in 2008, RBC Group operates in five countries across Eastern Europe, with more than 250 mid-market and enterprise customers, CargoWise said.
   “We were looking to do business with a software company capable of providing world-leading, sophisticated solutions and tangible results not only to our existing customers, but to the entire logistics industry in our region – one that could provide us with the opportunity to expand into new vertical markets,” said RBC Group Managing Partner Anton Poretskov. “We saw that CargoWise’s ediEnterprise solution is becoming an indisputable first choice for the logistics industry globally, and believe it has the potential to become the industry standard for Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other former Soviet Union countries as well.”
   According to Poretskov, ediEnterprise offers a combination of industry-specific content, business interaction capabilities, and flexible licensing arrangements.
   “Our goal is to provide local businesses with access to technologies that are used by the most advanced international companies, enabling Eastern European forwarders, (non-vessel operating common carrier) and (warehousing management system) providers to expand and effectively compete in new markets,” he said.
