Nokia moving headquarters to Miami With Latin America emerging as a leading growth markets in its overall operations, the Finland-based mobile phone company Nokia says it plans to move its Latin American regional headquarters to Miami.
   The company announced Tuesday that it will move the Latin American regional headquarters from Irving, Texas to Miami’s Enterprise Zone south of Miami International Airport. About 40 employees will relocate from Texas, and there will be 50 new hires over the next 12 to 18 months. The relocation will be complete in November.
   “Latin America is one of the most important growth markets in the mobile communications industry, and Nokia’s aim is to continuously expand its presence and leadership in the region’s markets,” said Maurizio Angelone, senior vice president, customer and market operations, Nokia Latin America. “Miami’s proximity to Latin American countries and its position as a regional transportation and communications hub make it the perfect location from which to better serve the needs of our customers in Latin America.'
   Nokia currently employs more than 4,500 people in Latin America and has operations in 11 of the region’s countries.
