Reusable packaging company to use Transplace for transportation

Tosca, a provider of reusable packaging for perishables, will use Transplace’s managed transportation services to leverage greater buying power and access to capacity.    The reusable packing company Tosca will use Transplace to provide managed transportation services, the third-party logistics and transportation management system provider said this week.
   Transplace will manage Tosca’s North America transportation activities, including execution and visibility for all inbound and outbound shipments from its facilities and customer locations throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, Central America and South America. Transplace will use its proprietary TMS to optimize shipments and will provide business intelligence dashboards and reporting.
   “After experiencing substantial growth, Tosca recognized the opportunity to optimize our operations, reduce costs and improve customer service by outsourcing our transportation management to an experienced third party provider,” Tosca VP of Supply Chain and Operations Michael Wasson said. “Partnering with Transplace gives us better insight into market conditions and the ability to quickly and effectively react to those changes and be more responsive to customer demand. Leveraging the scale and buying power of Transplace along with its large carrier network will help further manage transportation costs and secure the capacity needed to best serve our customers.”
