Globe Maritime releases ocean rating module

   The ocean transport software developer Global Maritime Transportation Services (GMTS) on Tuesday released a rate tool that gives users the ability to index by trade, port pairs, commodity, equipment size, and type of market rates via a 24/7 information feed.
   The patent-pending software, dubbed BOTE Charts by Globe Maritime, is part of a new suite of GMTS software modules.
   “Prior to BOTE Charts, indices were dated and provided little insight into actual commodity, port pair, equipment and trade-related pricing,” said GMTS President Ted LeBlanc in a statement. “There’s been little or no relevant information on which to base market driven analysis.”
   LeBlanc said BOTE Charts is designed for both carriers and cargo owners.
   Other module releases by GMTS include a quoting engine that allows email integration of rate quotes, from which customers may accept reject or counter offers via email; a document manager that pulls rates from tariffs and contracts to ensure proper rating on the bill of lading; and a rate comparison tool.
