CAPS LOGISTICS RELEASES SOFTWARE FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING    CAPS Logistics, a provider of supply chain execution systems, has announced the release of Innovation, a new suite of software solutions for supply chain optimization.
   General Mills, in the beta testing phase of the new software, “leveraged the technology used in Innovation to save millions, as well as to generate ideas in purchasing as well as distribution,” said Nick Holman, manager of supply chain analysis at General Mills.
   The new suite of solutions allows clients to rationalize strategic sourcing, inventory and distribution planning. “Customers seeking to launch new products to build market share, or to assess a possible merger, can evaluate different scenarios before making a major investment in capital and resources,” said Mike Allocco, vice president of marketing and sales for CAPS Logistics.
   CAPS Logistics, based in Atlanta, is a subsidiary of the Invensys Company, headquartered in London.
