ASL manages a group of 12 American companies that includes Fidelio Limited Partnership (FLP), American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) and American Auto Logistics (AAL).
Retired Gen. John W. Handy has been named president and chief operating officer of Fidelio, Inc., a U.S.-flag ship-owning and operating company for eight U.S. flag roll-on/roll-off vessels, and a major contractor in the Maritime Security Program (MSP),
Handy retired as the commander of the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), the transportation manager for all air, land and sea transport for the Defense Department. He will continue in his role as vice chairman of the ASL Group board, where he has served for the past six years.
Eric P. Ebeling has been named president and chief operating officer of American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC), whose principal business is providing international U.S. flag ro/ro shipping services. His responsibilities include leadership in marketing, sales, pricing, and operations for ARC’s global services, as well as government relations and public relations for the ASL Group. Ebeling has held several executive roles within ASL since joining the group in 2003, most recently as vice president and general manager.
ARC is the largest U.S.-flag ro/ro carrier, and the third largest U.S.-flag carrier operating in international trade.
Edward J. Cermack has been named president and chief operating officer of ASL Group Logistics Cos., including American Auto Logistics, LP (AAL) which manages the Defense Department’s global POV contract. The group also includes Transcar, the European-based vehicle processing and trucking company.
Prior to joining the company in May 2007, Cermack held executive level positions at Maersk Logistics and Phillip Morris International.
