Sea Star Line upgrades Eastern Caribbean service

Sea Star Line upgrades Eastern Caribbean service    Sea Star Line said it will upgrade its service to the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean.
   For the past five years, the company has used the roll-on/roll-off ship Cap Canaille to move cargo to St. Thomas and St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, but other ships to move cargo to neighboring islands in the eastern Caribbean, said Mike McDaid, marketing manager at Sea Star.
   The other ships “could not meet the service requirements and did not align with our commitments to our customers,” he said. So Sea Star has decided to used the Cap Canaille to call the Eastern Caribbean islands of Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and Tortola as well.
   Sea Star provides mainline service to San Juan from four U.S. ports — Jacksonville and Port Everglades, Fla.; Houston; and Elizabeth, N.J. — and cargo to the other islands are relayed in San Juan.
