The port’s total TEUs fell 23.4 percent to 399,295 TEUs in January compared to the same month in 2008. Loaded inbound containers fell at 23.3 percent, to 200,588 TEUs. Loaded outbound containers suffered an even steeper drop of 27.3 percent to 88,510 TEUs. Empties dropped 20.2 percent to 110,197 TEUs.
