Continental, American post cargo increases in August

Continental, American post cargo increases in August    American Airlines and Continental Airlines both posted increases in cargo volumes for the month of August.
   Continental carried 87.7 million cargo revenue ton-miles, up 8.6 percent compared to 80.8 million cargo revenue ton-miles in the same month last year.
   American flew 179.5 million system cargo ton-miles (international and domestic) in August, a 2.7 percent increase from 174.7 million system cargo ton-miles.
   After eight months, American’s system cargo ton-miles are up marginally by 0.1 percent to 1.45 billion system cargo ton-miles while Continental has moved 703.7 million revenue ton-miles, up 6.3 percent from 662 million revenue ton-miles in the same period a year ago.
