Dedicated C-TPAT Website a few months away, Customs says    A dedicated Web site for the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a few months away from being available online, U.S. Customs and Border Protection staff told attendees of the Western Cargo Conference in Monterey Friday.
   The conference, held by the West Coast chapter of the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, gave attendees a chance to query a panel of CBP personnel during a town hall-style forum.
   CBP also said the program will not be extended to overseas freight forwarders.
   “We consider the importer the center of gravity in C-TPAT,” said CBP’s Jaime Ramsay. “We have limited regulatory authority overseas. That’s why we limited C-TPAT membership. We still think importers have a huge amount of leverage over their supply chains.
