Virgin Atlantic Cargo re-introduces Chicago service

The cargo division of Virgin Atlantic will commence its seasonal service between Chicago and London Heathrow tomorrow.    Virgin Atlantic Cargo is re-introducing seasonal, daily flights to and from Chicago tomorrow, the airline said.
   The flights, which will arrive at London Heathrow at 7:55 a.m., will operate with an A330-300, boosting the airline’s capacity offering by an additional 16 metric tons per day.
   Virgin Atlantic Cargo already has a daily, year-round service that links Detroit and London Heathrow, which arrives at London Heathrow at 6:25 a.m.
   “From the United Kingdom, even before the start of our summer season services to Chicago, we have commitments for more than 50 percent of our capacity,” Virgin Atlantic Cargo Senior Vice President, Cargo John Lloyd said. “Typical cargoes ex UK will be wide ranging, such as fresh fish, flowers and perishables as well as mail. For customers in the U.S, the early morning arrival of our Detroit and Chicago services into London means we can help them to quickly connect to markets across Europe and to other online destinations such as Johannesburg and Delhi.”
   Virgin Atlantic Cargo now offers direct services to and from 12 U.S. destinations, which include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, Orlando, San Francisco and Washington.
