CHINA SHIPPING’S FIRST POST-PANAMAX SHIP ENTERS PACIFIC    Shanghai-based China Shipping Container Lines is deploying its first post-Panamax vessel in the transpacific container trade.
   The 5,500-TEU CSCL Shanghai, the first in a series of post-Panamax vessels ordered by the expansion-minded Chinese carrier, will leave today on its maiden voyage on the transpacific West Coast Asia America South service.
      The CSCL Shanghai replaces, in this service, the smaller 2,825-TEU Pan Crystal, which will join the carrier’s Asia America East service.
   The deployment of other large ships by China Shipping next year is expected to lead to a substantial increase in its transpacific capacity.
   The port rotation for the AAS service is Los Angeles; Vancouver, B.C.; Xiamen; Yantian; Hong Kong; Busan; Los Angeles and Vancouver.
   CMA CGM, Norasia Container Lines and Zim all take space on the AAS
service.
