G6 Alliance voids multiple sailings on Asia-Europe loop

The ocean carrier alliance announced it will skip several sailings on its Asia-Europe Loop 6 service for a period of 11 weeks in response to changes in market demand.    Members of the G6 Alliance – ocean carriers APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) – will void several sailings on the Asia-Europe Loop 6 service in response to changes in market demand, the carriers said.
   Loop 6 will void sailings starting from week 8 for a period of 11 weeks, resuming service in week 19 (westbound, ETA Fuzhou, May 12).
   The loop’s rotation is Fuzhou, Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Nansha, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, Southampton, Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Jebel Ali, Shekou and Fuzhou.
   A total of 11 vessels with an average capacity of 11,872 TEUs operate on Loop 6, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
   Calls at  Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Shekou, Hong Kong, Colombo Antwerp and Jebel Ali will be covered by the G6 Alliance’s Loop 4 and Loop 5, both of which serve the Asia-Europe trade, according to a statement from the carriers.
