The company plans to expand by offering similar services to other automakers and firms operating in China.
Nippon Express said this month it will start transporting parts for a engine maker affiliated with Dongfeng. But it plans to boost the number of part makers it serves to about 130 by year-end.
The firm will also ship parts from Japanese and U.S. manufacturers by using its logistics networks in those countries.
Nippon Express said it expected the Dongfeng deal to induce orders from Japanese automakers operating in China, as Dongfeng has joint ventures with both Nissan and Honda.
Nippon Express' automotive sector operations in China are centered in Guangzhou, where it accumulates parts from various sites nationwide for delivery to automakers in Japan and around the globe.
Nippon Express will initially offer shipping services for 14 automotive parts suppliers in eastern Hubei province before expanding the operation to other auto-related sectors on the mainland.
Nippon Express maintains 100 logistics service bases in mainland China with more than 3,000 employees.
