ABF extends voting deadline for contract supplements

   With the ABF National Master Freight Agreement still not completely adopted, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and ABF have reached another contract extension through Aug. 31.
   Union members have to vote on six supplemental agreements to the contract. A majority of Teamsters ratified the ABF National Freight Agreement in June.
   “We remain hopeful that the agreements will be ratified, and it remains business as usual at ABF in the meantime,” ABF said in a statement. “The increases in contributions to health, welfare and pension plans that were supposed to begin August 1 for all Teamster employees will not take effect as scheduled until all remaining supplemental agreements are ratified.” – Jon Ross
