BIS removes four Russian firms from its “Entity List”

   The U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security removed four Russian firms from its “Entity List,” which requires additional export license processing for nonproliferation.
   The firms removed from the list are Europalace 2000, Gafit, MOSO Co., and the Scientific Research and Design Institute of Power Technology. The firms are no longer at high-risk of engaging in nuclear and missile technology proliferation activities, the agency said.
   The four Russian firms were added to the BIS Entity List shortly after the State Department deemed them a risk in 1998 and 1999. The State Department removed the four firms from nonproliferation measures in March.
   However, BIS said other export license requirements apply to these four Russian entities.
