The ship is on charter to COSCO Container Lines Co. under a 12-year, fixed-rate time charter. The COSCO Philippines is the third of eight 8,500-TEU sister ships and the fifth of 18 ships to be chartered by Seaspan to COSCO.
Seaspan owns containerships and charters them pursuant to long-term fixed-rate charters. Seaspan now has 47 containerships in operation and 21 to be delivered over the next 25 months.
