Turkish port plans expansion    The Turkish container terminal TCEEGE said it aims to more than double its annual capacity from 400,000 TEUs to 1 million TEUs.
   The terminal is located in Aliaga on Nemrut Bay, about 37 miles north of Izmir, and users include ocean carriers Maersk Line and Turkon.
   Tom's Palacios, chief operating officer of TCEEGE, said the terminal can accommodate ships with large capacity and is adding cranes to work bigger ships. The terminal has 725 meters (2,378 feet) of berth and will add two post-Panamax cranes and another mobile crane to its existing two mobile cranes. It will also add five rubber-tire gantry cranes to supplement a yard fleet that includes five reach-stackers and 24 tractors.
   The terminal's expansion will be developed by the Spanish terminal company Grup TCB with local partners in the TCEEGE joint venture.
