FEDEX FREIGHT EXPANDS LTL GUARANTEED SERVICES, REBRANDS    FedEx Freight, the regional less-than-truckload subsidiary of FedEx Corp., plans to launch several service offerings in conjunction with the operating company's re-branding.
   The re-branding, announced last February, applies a common branding to FedEx Freight's two independent operating companies, formerly American Freightways and Viking Freight. 'FedEx Freight East' and FedEx Freight West' will refer to the geographic coverage areas of the two regional LTL carriers, when necessary, the company said.
   Starting June 10, FedEx Freight East will launch FedEx Freight Next Day Plus, a new money-back guarantee service that will deliver shipments via truck in selected lanes up to 900 miles by the next business day. The service expands the regional LTL industry standard of 500 miles by the next day, the company said. The service will use 42 hubs in the Midwest, South, Southeast and Northeast to offer Next Day Plus in specific markets throughout its 40-state network.
   The service is designed for businesses seeking to keep inventories low or to quickly get their products to specific markets, trimming as much as a day out of the shipper's supply chain, FedEx Freight said. In some cases, such a service could allow shippers to eliminate distribution centers, the company added.
   Meanwhile, FedEx Freight West is adding a money-back guarantee option, called FedEx Freight EZ Guaranteed, which offers day-definite to all points the regional LTL directly serves.
   FedEx Freight West is also offering FedEx Freight EZ Expedited, a program which provides a dedicated service which provides tailored shipping solutions to meet tight deadlines 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Time-specific requirements may include reduced transit days, after-hours pick up and delivery, or same-day delivery, which is backed by a money-back guarantee.
   The West coast service improvements are complementary to money-back guaranteed and expedited services offered by FedEx Freight East.
