DAS appoints Long, Thiem

DAS appoints Long, Thiem    Wilmington, Calif.-based Distribution and Auto Service (DAS) has appointed Gary R. Long senior vice president of corporate planning and business development, and Alan Thiem director of logistics services.
   Long was senior vice president of vehicle processing company AMLI Holdings. Long has held senior level positions with Axis Group, a logistics subsidiary of Allied Holdings Inc., and Norfolk Southern Corp.
   Thiem’s previous positions include assistant manager of logistics operations for American Honda and product manager of the international automotive sales and marketing division at Norfolk Southern Corp.
   In April, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines and Manuel Antelo, president of Car One Argentina, each acquired 50 percent of DAS, and its subsidiary Annacis Auto Terminals, from Nissan North America.
