Isaki has been Gov. Gary Locke’s special assistant for business. He has also served as Locke’s special trade representative and chief of staff.
As part of his role at the port, Isaki will head a department focusing on international trade and new business development. He will oversee the port’s foreign trade offices, including a new Shanghai office due to open next year. He will also advise the port’s chief executive officer, “Mic” Dinsmore, on strategic economic and business issues.
