SAS Cargo selects InterGlobe as India agent

SAS Cargo selects InterGlobe as India agent Scandinavian airline SAS Cargo has appointed Delhi-based InterGlobe as its general sales agent for India ahead of a new route between the South Asia country and Copenhagen, Denmark, due to start Oct. 27.
   The new thrice-weekly service will be operated by SAS International with Airbus A340/330 passenger aircraft leaving Copenhagen for Delhi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Returns from Delhi will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Each flight will offer about 16 tons of payload.
   SAS Cargo said India’s air freight volumes are steadily growing and now account for 3 percent of the 27 million tons global market. It added that Europe is the largest market for Indian exports ranging from carpets, cold storage, tea and coffee, electronics/engineering goods, readymade garments, pharmaceuticals, perishables and printed matter. Indian imports comprise chemicals, electrical and electronic goods, spares and diplomatic mail and cargo, the airline said.
