Varig loses routes in Brazil Brazil's National Agency of Civil Aviation has taken more than 100 domestic flights away from the country's one-time flagship airline Varig, setting back the carrier's efforts to re-establish itself by growing market share for domestic flights.
   The Associated Press reported that the aviation authority cut 119 domestic flights because it was not operating all the routes it had the right to serve. The agency said Varig was using 151 of 270 allowed flights.
   The agency has the right to take away routes that have not been flown for 30 days. Those routes will be awarded to other carriers.
   Varig just received the right to resume operations on December 14, after a Brazilian court approved its acquisition by an investment group.
