Commerce forms renewable energy trade advisory    The U.S. Commerce Department on Thursday announced the members of the newly formed Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee.
   The committee will advise the department on the development and implementation of programs and policies that will help to expand the export competitiveness of the U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.

   'U.S. companies in these critical sectors need to take full advantage of increased exporting opportunities and thus will create green jobs for Americans that are needed to sustain our economic growth,' said Commerce Secretary Gary Locke in a statement.
   The 29 committee members will serve two-year terms. They will develop strategies to identify and expand export markets for the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries, both in the short- and long-term.
   Committee members represent the entire spectrum of the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors, from wind, solar and hydropower to green building, power distribution, and energy finance.
   Locke will hold his inaugural meeting with the committee on Dec. 7.
