Yang Ming, OOCL partnering on Asia/Indian subcontinent loop

Yang Ming, OOCL partnering on Asia/Indian subcontinent loop Yang Ming and Orient Overseas Container Line will start a weekly service between the Far East and the Indian subcontinent in mid-January.
   The China'Pakistan Express (CPX) will start on Jan. 17 with the sailing of the 1,200-TEU YM Inauguration from Shanghai. The service will use five vessels, three from Yang Ming and two from OOCL, and will have a full port rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Karachi, Mundra, Penang, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
   The transit time from Shanghai to Karachi will be 15 days.
   Yang Ming said the new service adds to its various partnerships with OOCL including joint service in the Vietnam trade.
   The Taiwan carrier will at the same time expand its existing China-Gulf Express (CGX) to include calls in the Persian Gulf so to connect with its Dubai/Umm Qasr, Iraq feeder service DUX.
   “CPX and CGX provide a very complete, rapid and punctual network in Middle East, Pakistan and Subcontinent area. We believe that our endeavors on service upgrade will gain the trust and shipment from the customers,” Yang Ming said in a statement.
