PIL, Wan Hai to start fortnightly Asia/Black Sea service

PIL, Wan Hai to start fortnightly Asia/Black Sea service Singapore-based Pacific International Lines and Taiwanese Wan Hai Lines are about to team up again in international waters with the start of a Far East/Black Sea service.
   PIL and Wan Hai already partner on two weekly services in the transpacific and Asia/North Europe trades.
   The Black Sea service will commence at the end of November deploying four vessels of about 2,800 TEUs. The service will initially have fortnightly sailing frequency, but the carriers said they would upgrade to weekly sailings by mid-February with PIL contributing four ships and Wan Hai three vessels.
   The scheduled port rotation for the service will be Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Port Said, Istanbul, Constantza, Illichevsk, Jeddah, Singapore, and back to Shanghai.
   The transit times from Shanghai to Port Said and Istanbul have been set at 19 days and 22 days, respectively.
