New Horizon Line ship christened

New Horizon Line ship christened    Horizon Lines today christened the “Horizon Hunter,” the first in a series of five 2,824 TEU containerships that the carrier will deploy in its West Coast/Guam/Asia service.
   Horizon said the new ships, being built at the Hyundai Mipo shipyard in South Korea, will fly the U.S. flag and “make the five current Jones Act-eligible vessels sailing this transpacific route today, available to the rest of the Horizon Lines Jones Act network.”
   Horizon Lines said in March it had agreed to charter the five new U.S.-flag, foreign-built vessels for 12-year terms from Ship Finance International Ltd.
   The “Horizon Hunter,” was sponsored by Kimberly Raymond, whose husband Charles G. Raymond is the carrier’s president and chief executive officer.
   The company said each of the new ships will have 568 reefer slots.
