CAI repurchases 50% equity from Interpool

CAI repurchases 50% equity from Interpool    Container Applications International Inc. said Tuesday it has repurchased the 50 percent common equity interest in CAI that was formerly held by Interpool Inc.
   The equity interest, which was originally acquired by Interpool in 1998, was redeemed from Interpool by CAI effective Oct. 1.
   “We are very pleased that we had the opportunity to redeem the common stock formerly held by Interpool, but look forward to continuing to work with Interpool by managing containers for Interpool in the future,” said Hiromitsu Ogawa, CAI’s founder and chief executive officer, in a statement.
   CAI is based in San Francisco and manages one of the world’s largest leased container fleets.
