J.H. Cohn, TOTALogistix join forces

J.H. Cohn, TOTALogistix join forces    U.S. accounting and consulting firm J.H. Cohn LLP has announced a joint venture with New Jersey-based TOTALogistix, a logistics management and consulting firm, to address its clients logistics and supply chain needs.
   Cohn Logistics, which will operate as a Cohn subsidiary, will work with J.H. Cohn's clients, especially in the manufacturing, retail and distribution industries, to help reduce transportation and logistics expenses by applying the firms' collective experience in supply chain management, transportation analysis, information management, and finance and accounting methods and controls.
   'In a tight economy, as both supply chains and lead times get longer, it's critical to have tightly managed logistics and supply chain programs in place, yet that's an area many overlook,' said Dom Esposito, chief operating officer of J.H. Cohn LLP, in a statement.
   'We elected to partner with TOTALogistix because of their significant expertise and success in these fields,' he added. 'Cohn Logistics will work with J.H. Cohn clients to create an optimized distribution network that can reduce logistics costs, improve asset utilization, increase inventory turns, and enhance customer service levels. This alliance is a boon to all companies struggling to cap costs without sacrificing customer service.'
   Cohn Logistics will renegotiate carrier agreements, identify inefficiencies and missed opportunities, and audit and pay client freight bills. The company uses in-house technology to provide its clients with insight into their logistics operations and savings they could not achieve on their own.
