Inchcape joint venture in Vietnam begins Marine services provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has begun full agency services in Vietnam following the formation of a joint venture with Gemadept Corp.
   ISS-Gemadept has its own offices and staff and is already handling vessels in Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau. The office in Ho Chi Minh will oversee all agency related matters at other ports where a network of sub-agents is already in place. Expansion into other ports is being evaluated, ISS said.
   'We shall be handling all kinds of port calls with the focus on developing dry bulk, tanker and cruise business,' said Khanh Do, managing director of ISS-Gemadept.
   Gemadept Corp. was one of the first three enterprises selected by the Vietnamese government for their pilot program to transform state owned enterprises into joint stock companies.
