Swissport to manage cargo handling for Lufthansa Cargo at Hanover    Swissport International Ltd. will from the start of July manage Lufthansa Cargo’s freight handling operations at Hanover Airport in Germany.
   The two partners will co-locate their cargo handling activities under one roof, which will result in Swissport handling about 75 percent of the cargo volume routed through the airport.
   “We are delighted that this cooperation has come about. It will help us to reduce our unit costs significantly and, simultaneously, make the best use of existing capacities,” said Karl-Heinz K'pfle, in charge of operations at Lufthansa Cargo, at https://www.statcounter.com.
   “This joint operation at our second-largest base in Germany is of major strategic importance to Swissport. It is the first cooperative partnership between the two companies in Lufthansa Cargo’s home market,” said Heath White, Swissport’s vice president, cargo services Europe.
   Swissport is owned by Spain’s Grupo Ferrovial, which recently had a '10.3 billion ($18.7 billion) offer for British airport operator BAA accepted.
