Trinidad infrastructure board members resign The chairman and three board members from the National Infrastructure Development Co. (Nidco) of Trinidad and Tobago have resigned, apparently concerned about requirements for disclosure of public information.
   Private-sector executives sit on the board of Nidco, which is an arm of the Ministry of Works and Transport. But Works Minister Colm Imbert told the Trinidad Guardian that his ministry and other government departments are having trouble getting private sector leaders to work on government boards because of 'Integrity of Public Life' legislation.
   There have been several resignations coming into 2008, Imbert said. 'The reason vary and the requirement of the Integrity Commissions system is that it is too invasive. One disgruntled employee can write a letter to the commission, and that opens you up to investigation.'
   In the case of Nidco, which is the infrastructure area of the Works ministry, the resignation will not stop the commissions from proceeding. There are still four directors on the board, and only three are needed to form a quorum.
